Support of the minister for the Culture
Desirous to bring the worlds of culture and technology closer, the minister for the Culture and the Communication decided to support the Grand Versailles Numérique (GVN) project and entrusted the Research and Technology Mission (Mission Research et Technologie (MRT)) the task to supervise it to the delegation for the development and the international affairs (Délégation au développement et aux affaires internationales (DDAI)).

By co-producing this display site, the MRT thus brings a human and financial support to the project. It is also associated to the organisation of the workshops gathering the minister for the Culture and for the Communication, the castle of Versailles and its research centre and the public institutions and private companies.

The ministry also aims at supporting the "laboratory" enterprise approach through the research centre of the castle of Versailles and inducing the "duplication" in other cultural places, technologies, services and tools created in Versailles.

In this perspective of duplication, the GVN project associates French (Grotte de Lascaux, Abbaye de Fontevraud, Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie …) and foreign (Cleveland Museum, Tate Gallery …) cultural museums and institutions.
